The Michigan Wolverines are actively working on finalizing an official visit with four-star linebacker Frederrick Ford, a key target for their 2027 recruiting class. Ford, hailing from Greenwood, Mississippi, previously visited Ann Arbor for an unofficial visit earlier this month, where he received a scholarship offer from Michigan. This visit is significant as the Wolverines aim to enhance their linebacker roster, competing against schools like LSU, Tennessee, Florida State, and Ole Miss for Ford's commitment. Currently ranked No. 242 in the Rivals Industry Rankings, Ford is one of the few blue-chip prospects left on Michigan's board. Head coach Kyle Whittingham, who has successfully built a top-10 recruiting class, sees Ford as a potential three-down linebacker capable of excelling in both run defense and pass coverage. The Wolverines are also considering a three-star UCLA linebacker commitment visiting this weekend, but Ford remains the top priority. With only one linebacker, three-star Brayden Watson from Buford, Georgia, currently committed for 2027, adding Ford would significantly bolster Michigan's defensive prospects.
